Lammi: a construction and wellbeing pioneer

Lammi is a market leader in stone construction, creating ambitious, individual stone houses. Lammi is driven by the desire to be a company who the rest of the industry follows, whose houses are the stuff of their customers’ dreams, and whose people are looked after.

Founded in 1956 as a family business, Lammi’s stone construction pioneers also want to pioneer in the field of employee wellbeing. That’s why Lammi and Wellbeing Superstars by Liikkuva Suomi launched collaboration in 2023, with the aim of supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of Lammi’s employees.

Ismo Nieminen, Lammi’s Managing Director, explains the company's interest in investing in the overall wellbeing of its staff: “I think we are doing pretty well. We've already invested in improving ergonomics and safety at work and occupational health services. Now we want to give our staff further tools to help them manage everyday life, and encourage them to take care of themselves in their free time.”

In a growing company, wellbeing is challenged by the seasonal rush between Easter and September, and demands of double shift production. The new wellbeing coaching programme focuses on rest and recovery.

“When the intensity of work varies a lot from season to season, it's important to keep both your body and your head fit,” says Wellbeing Superstars coach Tiina Ven. “In our coaching, we focus on identifying the things that energise us, finding our strengths, and improving everyday life.”

Enni Rautiainen, Marketing and Communications Specialist at Lammi, is also looking forward to the joint journey towards a better everyday life: “It’s important to us that Lammi is a desirable, attractive employer whose employees are taken care of. The coaching has got off to a great start. From the first weekend, there was a real buzz on the training platform as colleagues cheered each other on in their efforts to get fit and active.”

Lammi is a pioneer in its manufacturing field – and it also wants to be one in the field of employee wellbeing. That’s a good place to be after 70 years in business, and looking forward to the next 70.
